Belize Tours from Belize City
The Gateway to the Underworld. Belize City is the most convenient jumping-off point for the country's #1 adventure. Located just 90 minutes from the city via the Western Highway, this tour takes you deep into the **Tapir Mountain Nature Reserve** to explore the sacred **ATM Cave**. Swim into the mouth of the mountain, hike through crystal chambers, and witness the calcified remains of the "Crystal Maiden."
Whether you are staying at the Radisson/Biltmore or arriving on the 8:00 AM Water Taxi from San Pedro/Caye Caulker, we are there to meet you. We handle the logistics so you don't have to worry about transfers.
We drive west along the George Price Highway, passing the "Sleeping Giant" profile.
The Hike: A 45-minute jungle trek involving **three river crossings**. You will get wet before you even reach the cave!
The Cave: You swim into the dark entrance (headlamps provided). Inside, you’ll climb over rocks and wade through water to reach the dry "Cathedral" chamber.
This is a living museum. You will walk (in socks only) past hundreds of Maya artifacts—ceramics, stoneware, and tools—left exactly where they were used for bloodletting rituals over 1,000 years ago. The tour culminates at the skeletal remains of the **Crystal Maiden**.
Don't Miss Your Boat. If you are visiting from the islands (San Pedro/Caye Caulker), you need to take the last water taxi back (usually at 5:30 PM). Big group buses are often late. Our **Private Transport** guarantees we manage the time perfectly to get you back to the Marine Terminal with a ticket in hand.
| What's Included | What's Excluded |

❌ Breakfast ❌ CAMERAS (Strictly Banned) ❌ Water Taxi Tickets ❌ Gratuities |
Mandatory Packing List:
1. Closed-Toe Shoes: Hiking shoes or sneakers that WILL get wet.
2. SOCKS: Mandatory for the dry chamber to protect artifacts.
3. Change of Clothes: You cannot ride the bus/boat back wet.
1. Can I do this from a Cruise Ship?
Usually, no. The tour is too long (8+ hours) for standard cruise port times. We only recommend this if your ship stays in port for extended hours (8 AM to 6 PM). Please contact us to check your specific schedule.
2. Which Water Taxi terminal do you pick up from?
We pick up from both: San Pedro Belize Express and Ocean Ferry. Just let us know which boat you are taking, and we will be waiting at the exit with a sign.
3. Is the cave claustrophobic?
The spaces are generally very large (like a cathedral). There is one small "neck" you must pass through, but your guide is there to help. It is not a "tight squeeze" cave like some others.
4. Why no cameras?
To protect the artifacts. A tourist once dropped a camera on a skull, damaging it. Now, the government enforces a strict "No Camera / No Phone" policy. Enjoy the digital detox!
