Belize tours from Ambergris Caye
Maya Temples, Howler Monkeys & Underground Rivers. This is the ultimate "Wildlife & Culture" triple header. Designed for active travelers staying on Ambergris Caye, this private expedition packs the best of the Belize District into one unforgettable day. You’ll climb the Temple of the Masonry Altars, meet the loudest monkeys on the planet, and paddle your own kayak through the sacred caves of the Maya.
We start with a drive up the Old Northern Highway to **Altun Ha**. This site is famous for the discovery of the "Jade Head" of the Sun God Kinich Ahau. You will tour the ancient plazas and climb the main temple for a commanding view of the surrounding jungle canopy.
Next, we head to Bermudian Landing to visit the **Community Baboon Sanctuary**. This is a grassroots conservation success story. You will take a guided nature walk to see (and hear!) the **Black Howler Monkeys** in their natural habitat. These monkeys are wild, but often come down from the trees to greet visitors.
Trade the hiking shoes for a paddle. Unlike the passive "lazy river" tubing, **Cave Kayaking** puts you in the driver’s seat. You will paddle upstream into the mouth of the cave system, navigating through stalactites and cathedral-like chambers while your guide illuminates the ancient history hidden in the rock formations.
Logistics Mastered. Doing three stops from San Pedro is impossible with a shared shuttle group. Our **Private Mainland Service** meets you the moment your boat/plane lands. We control the clock to ensure you see everything and make it back to the water taxi terminal in time for your return trip to the island.

What to Bring: Comfortable walking shoes, insect repellent (for the jungle), sun protection, and a change of clothes/towel (you will get wet kayaking).
1. Do you book our water taxi tickets?
Guests typically purchase their own roundtrip tickets (San Pedro Belize Express is the most reliable) to give them flexibility, but we can arrange flights or tickets upon request.
2. Is Cave Kayaking difficult?
It is moderate. You need to be able to paddle, but the water inside the caves is generally calm. It is a more active experience than tubing.
3. Will we definitely see monkeys?
The Community Baboon Sanctuary has a very high success rate (over 95%). The guides know the troops by name and exactly where to find them.
4. Is this safe for kids?
We recommend this for ages 8 and up due to the kayaking. Kids need to be able to sit still in the kayak and help paddle (or ride tandem with a parent).
